Gras Rodriguez's LUNATIC FRINGE !

Congrats to my buddy Gras! She has published her first comic book, the wild and wonderful Lunatic Fringe. There's no way you would think this is a first effort. Gras swung for the fences with this one and she nailed it outta the park! Its a rock and roll fairy tale with some real life thrown in. Fantasy meets the streets of Pomona all the way to the Pacific Ocean! Surreal to the max!!

It started with a boy and a girl...and a heart and a game...

The life of a "normal" girl intertwines in a tale of love/hate and redemption.

Oh yeah, shameless plug: I did a pin up for the book:

Cabin fever

Sketchbook line artFinished colored page

Chipping away at the next film. This is a shot from a cabin scene. Uncolored line art straight out of my sketchbook. . The magic box helped to bring this to full color vivid life. Trying a few new things in this film that you may or may not even notice. Having a good time with this one.

More art to be posted later!

Claremont Packing House Animation Show

I was a last minute guest of the Packing House Animation Show in Claremont. I really didn't think my schedule was going to allow me to make it this time around, but as fate would have it, some things got pushed back and I was able to make the show. Very last minute. I screened NEW WAVE DENTIST (first time in public) and DJ DISRESPECT. The packing house is such a beautiful building. Its really nice to show our films in such a nice atmosphere. Thanks to Chris Petersen for setting this up. It was great seeing my Cartoonista buddies Raul, Gras, and Luis there as well as Chris Petersen and Scott Essman. Had a great time. There is talk of us putting together a Rose Bowl animation show in conjunction with the monthly flea market- - but more on that later!

Tales of the Taco Dog

Branding, folks......it's all about the branding! Does the above locale look slightly familiar? Deja Vu perhaps? The Taco Dog has made an appearance in several of my cartoons. I think it sums up the Los Angeles/suburban LA strip mall feel just right. Like a constant thread that ties the universe together, the Taco Dog serves as a common glue that holds part of the Ghettomation Camelot together strong. Classy. It's oh so classy too.

Soul Survivor magazine

Their article on Keith Sweat last month was outstanding. I thought the Big Daddy Kane centerfold was a little unnecessary. Hopefully they will soon do a piece on Ready for the World. That would be cool. Wait, what year are we in again?

Tonight at the Funky Rooster

If you're in Burbank, I hear the Funky Rooster throws a mean "Buck Wild Nite"! Dollar body shots and old school jams all night long. DJ Styley will be spinning. Should be a blast!

Ghettomation collector cards?

Was thinking of making some Ghettomation collector cards. Anyone interested? Maybe with some fun facts on the back? Some of them could be stills from the cartoons. I remember how cool KISS cards were back in the day. Would be kind of a thrill to do that with MY stuff. Now I gotta find a place that can print cards like these for a good price. Suggestions welcomed!

Another Satisfied Customer- Sherm!

Sweet endorsement! Nice! Sherm was kind enough to show off his haul of the Ghettomation Garden DVD and sketch. An artistic genius (and a good buddy) behind Cartoon Snap and storyboard master, artist, director, writer, singer, dancer, cowboy, pirate, spaceman who's worked for Disney, Nickelodeon, the CIA, FBI, IRS, DMV, TWA, PTA, and many more I'm sure! Sherm and I met this year and I'm really glad we did. It's a small world after all, Sherm has know Ted Seko for some time and also has been on Man Vs Art (who just celebrated one year!) with Raul Aguirre Jr.

In other words......Sherm's a stud! Check out Sherm's Ghettomation episode! Thanks for the pic, Sherm!
