My pal Jamar Nicholas, writer/creator/cartoonist/podcaster/Philadelphian extraordinaire sent me this pic of him holding his valued GHETTOMATION GARDEN DVD. I originally met Jamar through my other friends over at Fanboy Radio a few years ago. We met in person once in San Diego (Comic Con 2006 I think). Through the years we've kept in touch from time to time. Nice to know that Ghettomation is represented strong out in Philly! Jamar is living proof that its always funny in Philadelphia!

Newsprint Alphanerd sketch

Lookit me...I'm all speckly.

Well, I got the brilliant idea to try and draw my cartoons (for animation) on newsprint. You know, keeping the whole "put the ghetto in Ghettomation" ethic. Well, it ain't happening. Seems scanning a clean line in newsprint is a pain in the rump. Looks kind of cool though, thought I'd share it with you.

Oh well, I am really happy drawing and scanning from my trusty 8 x 5.5 sketchbooks. The size is already formatted for "widescreen". Can't blame me for trying newsprint, though. Cheap and effective....much like my Ghettomation!

GEEKS, Saturday night- Cartoon Flophouse founders (and Cartoonistas)Michael Aushenker and Jose Cabrera presented a unique slide show that showcased some of the history of their cartoon influences. Everything from Tin Tin to Popeye to Mad Magazine to Sesame Street was covered. Very funny and very cool.

PS, they had a joke telling contest and I won. Yup. For real.

The Cougar and the Cub! In all of its glory! No, this ain't a porn! You will not guess the ending to this one. Themesong by the Tampico Bros. If you listen real close, you'll hear some background voices from my good buddies Sherm Cohen, Kevin Cross, and Raul Aguirre jr (first and last scenes).
