The Henchman

Finally! Its online. The HENCHMAN.I had the loose concept to take a super villan's henchman and zoom in and do a story about him and his sad life. Enter David Hopkins. He totally gave life tot he characters and gave it a very "Woody Allen" feel. I think the version posted here just uses my loose pencils. Inks were done by Phil Ginn, hopefully those will see the light of day, too. Either way, it was fun working on this....about a YEAR and a half ago!

Sunshine & the Candyman

This is the animation test I did with my buddy (animation/editing guru) Miles Kinghorn. We did this as a possible TV pitch for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, FX, G4,Spike, Fox, MTV, QVC, CSPAN....whoever! Premise: A ladiesman trucker(Candyman) is suddenly responsible for his 11 yr old lovechild from a stripper. Her name is Sunshine and she's the type of kid that gets Candyman into precarious situations. The heavy is a bad guy cajun trucker named Crawdaddy. I came up with the characters and Miles and I did the script. Miles really helped to direct it as well. The voices were friends of ours. I did the voice for Candyman. We never finished the animation because Miles switched jobs before we could complete this. Oh well, thats Hollywood for ya!

Pasadena Live Art photos/video

Conquest!

Me draws.

All in all it was a good time had last night in Pasadena. The Pasadena Central Library is a beautiful place. I think we missed the loud music, though. That always adds the to atmosphere. The crowd seemed very interested in our art processes. One of them even picked up a sharpie and drew a picture. Hey back off, its OUR show. Just kidding. Well, half kidding. Anyways, Pasadena is a great place with lots of great people who like great art and the night was....well...pretty great. Thanks Mike, Bill, and most of all my wife and daughter for coming out to support us!

Live art footage

Footage from the 3rd annual Nuvein gala. The Cartoonistas did live art at the event. All proceeds went to the Nuvein foundation for the arts (San Gabriel Valley). We also got to sell our own goods, too. I made enough money to have a carnitas burrito from Alberto's at 11 pm....and STILL had money leftover. That's right. Can you say "independently wealthy"?
