Revengeance Press Release

King of Indie Animation Bill Plympton Teams with Jim Lujan for New Feature Film

New York, NY, December 12, 2013 --(PR.com)
Oscar nominated independent animator Bill Plympton ("Your Face", "Simpsons", "Idiots and Angels", "Cheatin") teams with underground animated filmmaker Jim Lujan ("Sanjourno Must Die", "Freakdaddy", “Spike and Mike”) for the upcoming feature-length animated film "Revengeance". Plympton will draw, animate, and produce the film, while Lujan will write, design, and voice many of the characters himself.

"Revengeance" is described as a "Tarantino-esque biker revenge dark comedy", and has entered pre-production based on the screenplay by Lujan.

What fans of Indie Animation can expect from this partnership is the blending of Plympton’s Internationally acclaimed hand-drawn surrealism with Lujan’s wry sense of well-developed characters in a tightly written narrative by Lujan. Says Plympton “I’ve been pushing the boundaries of hand-drawn animation but wanted to delve deeper into traditional story, but with that ‘edge’ that people miss with today’s formula plot lines.”

Plympton is also Executive Producer of the developing feature Magnum Farce by Ken Mora's Bella Fe Films, signaling a push from Plympton to give rise to more Indie Animation choices at the box office. Lujan, winner of the “Plympton Award for Indie Animation” last year continues to entertain fans on Titmouse’s Rugburn Channel in the YouTube serialized adventure Sanjourno Must Die and the upcoming television series "Masterfreak Theatre".

Says Lujan “Working with Bill Plympton is a mind-blowing honor. Both of us bring something complimentary and interesting to the table.” Says Plympton “Jim is one of the cleverest writers and character developers I’ve seen in years, and I love the energy, drive and humor he brings to the partnership."

Plympton and Lujan will be previewing work in progress at 2014 San Diego Comicon booth 1537. At Comicon, Plympton and Lujan will reside in what is evolving into an ‘Animation Alley’ - a neighborhood of animation including Annie Award winning Spike and Mike, Animation Magazine, Bella Fe Films, Muybridge Animation International, and ASIFA Hollywood - producers of the Annie Awards.
